Location throughput

When to use​

This feature lets you control the number of vehicles working simultaneously at warehouses and other facilities with limited throughput.

Typical use cases:

  • A warehouse can serve only a limited number of vehicles at the same time
  • The load has to be spread over the day (different limits for day and night)
  • Limits on the volume, weight or other cargo parameters per unit of time

Key details:

  • The average value over a time interval is limited, not the peak one (for example, 100 vehicles for 1 second create the same load as 1 vehicle for 100 seconds)
  • Only the order execution time is counted (arrival, waiting and departure times are not)

How to implement​

For the warehouse location, start passing the locations.timetable.limits limit and enable load tracking with disable_location_limits: false (tracking is disabled by default).

It is best to analyze the examples below on the Gantt chart.

Example 1​

The warehouse is open from 00:00 to 05:00 and its loading rate is 1 cargo per hour — 5 trips are created, and they are loaded one after another.
